Calling all sandwich lovers, connoisseurs, enthusiasts, traditionalists, and experimentalists!
The Preservation Sandwich Society is a gathering in which people pool their innovative resources to uphold one of our world's nutritional cornerstones, the sandwich. Literally building an edible community in which we share ideas, know-how, and experience through exchange of handcrafted and homemade sandwich fixings.
How it works:
- Bring your 10 prepared portions (for example, 10 small jars of pickled onions, 10 loaves or half loaves of bread, 10 individually wrapped portions of cured meat, etc.) to offer as gifts to the other guests.
- Plus 1 portion to share at the table in a communal sandwich making moment.
- Everyone who attends receives 10 different items from the other guests so
they can continue the sandwich making experience at home, thus preserving the sandwich until the next gathering and sharing.
From breads to spreads and everything in between (and possibly something to wash it all down with), the list of items to share is as extensive as your imagination.
Bring something that you have made, prepared, preserved, pickled, put up; something spready, meaty, veggie, jelly, jammy, smokey, cured, whipped, pounded, brined, stuffed, cooked, grilled, chilled, cultivated, grown, and/or baked. The world is your oyster. Fry it and make it a Po'boy.
